Acta Agriculturæ Scandinavica publishes original articles concerning agriculture research of international interest and relevance to Scandinavian conditions in two separate sections; "Animal Science" (A) and "Soil and Plant Science" (B). Acta Agriculturæ Scandinavica is published jointly by The Scandinavian Association of Agricultural Scientists (NJF) and The Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry (KSLA). The Aim and Scope of Section A is to publish results of original research in animal science and their applications related to animal breeding and genetics; animal physiology and reproduction; nutrition and feeding; animal behaviour and welfare; general animal husbandry and systems of production, including economic and technical aspects; hygiene and quality of animal products. In addition to original articles, covering basic as well as applied subjects, the journal features review articles and short communications. It is the endeavour of the journal to give place to papers of high scientific quality and international interest, authored by Scandinavian as well as non-Scandinavian scientists in order to stimulate contacts and exchange of knowledge.

Founded in 1935, Acta Zoologica Sinica is a bimonthly, peer-reviewed international journal of zoology. It publishes primary research papers in all fields of zoological sciences. Once accepted, the manuscripts will be published in less than four months. The journal has been an important medium for zoologists from China and other countries to communicate research results and discuss challenging scientific questions. It has a large readership, including the more than 12 thousand members of the China Zoological Society. Although it publishes papers in either Chinese or English languages, the journal particularly welcomes contributions in English to promote more effective scientific communication and the internationalization process of this journal.

An international journal devoted to the study and conservation of animal biodiversity. Zoology has experienced in recent years many changes and specializations, and new disciplines have arosen, from Evolutionary Ecology to Molecular Systematics. Additionally, Conservation Biology is increasingly becoming a subject of main importance with a growing interest. To cope with the demands of modern zoologists, the Natural Science Museum of Barcelona decided in 2000 to change the title and structure of its former journal Miscel.lània Zoològica, published since 1958, to become the new Animal Biodiversity and Conservation. With this we intended to fullfil an empty space in Spanish journals, but also to provide zoologists with a proper international forum to publish their papers. The scope of the journal is wide, including descriptions of new species, and studies on systematics, morphology, biogeography, ecology, ethology, physiology and genetics, to some point stressing the relevance of the study to Conservation Biology. The journal publishes original research papers, reviews and comments on any aspect and level within this scope. The only restriction is that the journal do not publishes catalogues, lists of species (with no other relevance) or punctual records.

Animal Biology, is formally a continuation of the Netherlands Journal of Zoology, the official journal of the Royal Dutch Zoological Society since its foundation in 1872 (until 952 know as Archives Néerlandaises de Zoologie). As such it can boast a rich tradition. However, the Board of the Society felt that modern zoological research require a new international approach for the journal. The society has, therefore, appointed a brand new Executive Editor and a completely new, international Editorial Board, consisting of leading scientists in zoology. The new editorial team will consider manuscript submission form the wide field of zoology and accept only those that pas the refereeing process, where quality and originality of the work are the main criteria. Animal Biology publishes articles from all quarters of zoology, including ecology, behaviour, evolution, morphology, neurobiology, developmental biology, physiology, cognition, endocrinology, systematics, genomics and theoretical biology.
Animal Conservation ISSN: 1367-9430

Full Text: 1998 - present
Animal Conservation provides a forum for rapid publication of novel, peer-reviewed research into the conservation of animal species and their habitats. The focus is on rigorous quantitative studies of an empirical or theoretical nature, which may relate to populations, species or communities and their conservation. A central theme is to publish important new ideas and findings that have general implications for the scientific basis of conservation. Subjects covered by the journal include population biology; epidemiology; evolutionary ecology; population genetics; biodiversity and biogeography; palaeobiology; conservation economics. The journal is essential reading for conservation biologists, policy-makers and students. Animal Conservation is published quarterly. A principal objective is to ensure rapid publication of new and original research (ideally within 6 months of submission) following a rigorous review process. Articles should be written in a style that can be understood by the general reader. Papers should have a broad interest and specific or single-species studies will only be considered if the findings have general implications. Cross-disciplinary papers, suggesting new approaches, are particularly encouraged. Proposals for reviews and forum papers intended to promote discussion are particularly welcomed by the Editors. Please note that Appendices are no longer published in the printed version of Animal Conservation. Supplementary material may be published in electronic form. Published on behalf of the Zoological Society of London.

Arxius de Miscel·lània Zoològica, AMZ, is an electronic journal that publishes faunistic, chorological, phenological, morphological and descriptive ecological articles with a full analysis and discussion of results. The journal accepts articles from all zoological groups, including the least studied taxa. There are no geographic limitations, although the journal deals mainly with the region of the Western Mediterranean. In a format that is readily accessible to users, AMZ aims to publish original studies which rigorously document the morphological variability of zoological organisms and their distribution in space and time. As its title indicates, the journal is interested in publishing articles concerning all biological groups, without forgetting those which are often overlooked: 'The little things that run the world' (E.O. Wilson,1987).
