Alcohol and Alcoholism publishes papers on biomedical psychological and sociological aspects of alcoholism and alcohol research provided that they make a new and significant contribution to knowledge in the field. Papers include new results obtained experimentally descriptions of new experimental (including clinical) methods of importance to the field of alcohol research and treatment or new interpretations of existing results. Theoretical contributions are considered equally with papers dealing with experimental work provided that such theoretical contribution are not of a largely speculative or philosophical nature.

The Annals of Occupational Hygiene aims to promote a healthy working environment by publishing research papers and reviews on health hazards and risks resulting from work, especially their recognition, quantification, management and control. The journal is interested in basic mechanisms, but also human aspects and technology. It includes papers on broader environmental risks to humans where these risks are closely related to work.Topics covered include (but are not limited) to the following:chemical, physical and biological agents; their mechanisms of formation, emission, exposure, absorption and effectmeasurement, control, process design, ergonomics and protectionoccupational toxicology and epidemiologyassessment and management of risk, education and trainingThe journal includes papers, short communications and letters to the editor. For further details of these, see Instructions to Authors, near the end of each issue. The Annals of Occupational Hygiene is the official journal of the British Occupational Hygiene Society http://www.bohs.org/ It was founded in 1958 and is edited by Trevor Ogden (Editor in Chief) and Stephen Rappaport (North American Editor).ANNOUNCEMENT: For the second year in succession, the Impact Factor of the Annals of Occupational Hygiene has reached an all-time high. Archives of Environmental & Occupational Health, originally founded in 1919 as the Journal of Industrial Hygiene, and perhaps most well-known as the Archives of Environmental Health, reports, integrates, and consolidates the latest research, both nationally and internationally, from fields germane to environmental health, including epidemiology, toxicology, exposure assessment, modeling and biostatistics, risk science and biochemistry. Publishing new research based on the most rigorous methods and discussion to put this work in perspective for public health, public policy, and sustainability, the Archives addresses such topics of current concern as health significance of chemical exposure, toxic waste, new and old energy technologies, industrial processes, and the environmental causation of disease such as neurotoxicity, birth defects, cancer, and chronic degenerative diseases. For more than 90 years, this noted journal has provided objective documentation of the effects of environmental agents on human and, in some cases, animal populations and information of practical importance on which decisions are based.

As medical technology continues to develop the subject of bioethics has an ever increasing practical relevance for all those working in philosophy medicine law sociology public policy education and related fields. Bioethics provides a forum for well-argued articles on the ethical questions raised by current issues such as: international collaborative clinical research in developing countries organ transplants and xenotransplantation ageing and the human lifespan AIDS the Human Genome Project and its implications and embryonic stem cell research. These questions are considered on the basis of concrete ethical legal and policy problems or in terms of the fundamental concepts principles and theories used in discussions of such problems. Bioethics also features regular Background Briefings on important current debates in the field. These feature articles provide excellent material for bioethics scholars teachers and students alike.

The Electronic Journal of Pathology and Histology is the first scientific journal in medical sciences published solely on an electronic medium. The journal will accept research articles, review articles, technical notes, case reports, short communications, and letters to the editor submitted as plain text files, winword-documents, pdf or, preferable, html files. Executable programs can be published as well as long as they correspond to these aims and scope. The journal is a scientific journal in pathology, histology, and related fields. It covers all aspects of surgical pathology, and focus on tropical medicine and medical parasitology. Articles are welcome on cytometry, histometry, computer-assisted diagnosis, telepathology, and expert systems. Articles on biochemical and molecular-biological or environmental, toxicological and occupational aspects of pathology are requested as well as developmental and histological studies on light and electron microscopical level, or case reports.
