This comprehensive journal provides the latest information on rotating machines and machine elements. This technology has become essential to many industrial processes, including steam- or water-driven turbines at utility plants and in food processing, automobile and airplane engines, heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, and chemical or petroleum refining. In spite of the importance of rotating machinery, and the huge financial resources involved in the industry, only a few publications distribute research and development information on the prime movers. This journal is the first source to combine the technology, as it applies to all of these specialties, previously scattered throughout literature. The International Journal of Rotating Machinery, published in cooperation with the Pacific Center of Thermal-Fluids Engineering, presents research results on all types of rotating machinery employing gas, vapor, particle, liquid, and their mixtures (including slurry) as the working substances. Articles cover the topics of combustion, control design, dynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, materials, manufacturing, structures and thermodynamics.

Information Security is an important aspect of protecting the information society from a wide variety of threats. The International Journal of Security (IJS) presents publications and research that builds on computer security and cryptography and also reaches out to other branches of the information sciences. Our aim is to provide research and development results of lasting significance in the theory, design, implementation, analysis, and application of secure computer systems. IJS provides a platform to computer security experts, practitioners, executives, information security managers, academics, security consultants and graduate students to publish original, innovative and time-critical articles and other information describing research and good practices of important technical work in information security, whether theoretical, applicable, or related to implementation. It is also a platform for the sharing of ideas about the meaning and implications of security and privacy, particularly those with important consequences for the technical community. We welcome contributions towards the precise understanding of security policies through modeling, as well as the design and analysis of mechanisms for enforcing them, and the architectural principles of software and hardware system implementing them.

The main goal of computer graphics and computer vision is to discover the essential rules of representing and generating shapes. Shapes are fundamental attributes of visible objects, and reasoning about the shape is a common way of describing and representing real objects in computer science, engineering, mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, and even in one's daily life. Research on shape information is hence multidisciplinary. From this point of view, the International Journal of Shape Modeling is aimed at creating a suitable environment for exchanging research results obtained in advanced theories and techniques devised for handling the shape of objects, pointing out the three main aspects of modeling: disciplines, roles, and applications. Shape modeling should be intended both in a creative and an analytical sense. On the one hand, a precise definition of shape characteristics is an essential step for reproducing certain features in synthetic objects (eg. computer graphics), while on the other hand, mathematical models for shapes are needed to perform tasks, such as shape classification, recognition and characterization (eg., computer vision). The journal also includes topics regarding the necessary advanced mathematical theories for describing and analyzing shapes, such as differential geometry, differential topology, the singularity/catastrophe theory, fractal theory, theory of topological atoms, molecules, and Hamiltonian systems.

A key feature of this journal is the mix of academic and theoretically-slanted methodological articles, articles relating to research practice in professional and service settings, and those considering the relationship between the two. It thus addresses an audience of researchers within academic and other research organizations as well as practitioner-researchers in the field. IJSRM provides: a focus for ongoing and emergent methodological debates across a wide range of social science disciplines and substantive interests; an international medium for the discussion of social research methodology across a range of approaches, as these relate to practical, theoretical, ethical, political, epistemological and philosophical issues; a forum for researchers and practitioner-researchers to consider methodological issues as these relate to research practice in a range of professional and service settings and sectors; a base for the dissemination of information about events and book publications in the broad field of social research. Each issue of the journal is divided into three main sections: 1. Methodology This section contains peer-reviewed 'reflective' theoretically-based papers (around 6,000 words), debating and exploring methodological issues across a range of disciplines, methodological approaches (for example, qualitative and quantitative) and substantive topics. Articles address all aspects of the research process, from conceptualization through to 'writing'. In addition, as the editors deem appropriate, overview or review articles will be commissioned from a leading author, discussing debates or the state of the art in relation to an area of research methodology. 2. Practice This section contains shorter pieces from both academics and practitioner-researchers (around 3,000 words) concerned with the application of research methodology among a range of professional and service sectors (for example, action research and practitioner research), as well as the teaching of social research methodology and practice. These papers are subject to peer (academic and/or practitioner-researcher) or editorial review, as appropriate. 3. Information This section contains reports on, and notices of forthcoming, methodologically-related conferences and events, as well as reviews of books concerned with social research methodology. These are subject to editorial review.

As an international and multi-disciplinary publication, primary purpose of the International Journal of Social Sciences and Humanity Studies (IJ-SSHS) is to provide an outlet for scholarship in all sub-areas of social sciences, including economics, business, management, law, political science, sociology, philosophy, ethics etc. The International Journal of Social Sciences (IJ-SSHS) is a peer-reviewed social science journal. The Journal is biannual and most of the papers are based on selected papers from the annual International Conference on Social Sciences. IJ-SSHS invites high quality submissions in fields of the social sciences. Contributions based on original research and employing a comparative international approach are particularly encouraged. Currently, only papers accepted for the International Conference on Social Sciences are published in the International Journal of Social Sciences and Humanity Studies (IJ-SSHS).

It has become evident that major social forces of a global nature - such as demographic trends migration patterns and the globalization of the economy - are reshaping social welfare policies and social work practices the world over. There is much to be learned from the careful analysis of experiences in the various countries that are struggling with the emerging challenges to social welfare in the post-modern world. The IJSW seeks to encourage debate about the global implications of the most pressing social welfare issues of the day. Its interdisciplinary approach will promote examination of these issues from the various branches of the applied social sciences and integrate analyses of policy and practice.
